Aesculus flava vestita - “Sweet Buckeye”
Medium/Large. Wide conical open crowned tree. Dark green leaves with 5-7 leaflets and attractive brown bark which falls off in large round scales (like Platanus acerifolia). Most distinctive feature is its light yellow flowers (May- June) with pink spots in 10-15cm long, upward panicles. A hardy, healthy tree which tolerates urban atmospheres. Good yellow autumn colour.
