Tilia platyphyllos - “Broad-leaved Lime”
Large. Vigorous, native tree with downy shoots. Leaves roundish - ovate, sharply toothed. Flowers appear in late June or early July. A commonly planted tree, especially in parks. Suckers are produced, though not as prolifically as in Tilia x europaea, and it still has the same aphid problem as do the following clones.
