Small/medium. Striking tree, leaves rich golden-yellow from spring to autumn creating a brilliant splash of colour. The greyish-brown bark is rough and deeply grooved. Young twigs are bright brown and have striking wine-red thorns. Can be sensitive to wind so should be planted in a sheltered site.
